Levelling Up
The United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) are core parts of the UK Government’s Levelling Up agenda, the primary goal of the funds is to build pride in place and increase life chances across the UK.
West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has been awarded a total of £5.4m from the UKSPF, and a further £1.3m from the REPF, to meet the goals of Levelling Up and to deliver on the needs and priorities of residents and businesses across West Northants.
In addition to these funds, WNC has also received £1.9m of funding from Multiply to improve adult numeracy skills.
Under the 3-year funding programme that started in 2022/23, the Council aims to Level Up West Northants by focusing on 3 key investment priorities:

- People and Skills
- Supporting Local Business

Communities and Place funding
This funding is about amplifying the quality offer in the area to enable every resident to live their best life
Supporting Local Business funding
We are dedicated to delivering initiatives and activities that improve business survival, enable sustainable and inclusive business growth and establish West Northants as a place where businesses can thrive
People and Skills funding
This funding is a vital part of our strategy to enable all our residents to start, stay and succeed in local, sustainable employment
Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF)
The Rural Fund supports the 'Communities and Place' and 'Supporting Local Business' priorities of the UKSPF with additional funding for rural communities and businesses
Multiply funding
The UK Government has established the Multiply Fund within the UKSPF to address the challenges of low adult numeracy rates
West Northamptonshire Social Enterprise Towns (WNSET)
The WNSET fund aims to provide support for social entrepreneurs in West Northamptonshire
