Estates Management
We manage a portfolio of around 1,000 properties, including operational buildings like headquarters (One Angel Square, Guildhall in Northampton), schools, care homes, and libraries. These facilities are essential for delivering services to West Northamptonshire residents.
Non-operational assets
Our portfolio also includes non-operational assets leased to private tenants, which provide social, economic, and environmental benefits. These assets generate significant revenue to support statutory services and corporate objectives.
Residential houses
We own many residential houses as part of our council housing stock, managed by Northampton Partnership Homes (NPH).
Our role
The Estates team:
- manages the property estate
- provides cost-effective, efficient property solutions
- works with Facilities and Works teams to collect and analyse property data (tenure, size, occupation, cost, energy efficiency, condition)
- delivers a 5-year rolling programme of asset and insurance valuations for financial reporting
This information helps us make strategic decisions to ensure our estate meets service requirements and aligns with corporate objectives.
Voluntary, Community, Social enterprise, and Faith Group Property Policy
This policy outlines our relationship with VCS organisations, providing premises based on guiding principles. Generally, leases are at market value unless qualifying for a concession.
