Northamptonshire Sport - Inclusive PE and School Sport Programme

The Inclusive PE and School Sport Network offer combines opportunities of a competitive nature via School Games competitions and festivals to promote participation.

Through the ongoing partnership with Friars Academy – which is a Youth Sport Trust lead 2020 inclusion school, the Inclusive PE and School Sport Network is a collaboration of special and mainstream, primary and secondary schools across the county.

The Inclusive Network was established in December 2014 and has continued to grow and develop participation and leadership opportunities for a broad spectrum of children and young people with special educations needs and/or disabilities.

The programme has evolved with the help of engaged schools, which enables Northamptonshire Sport  to provide a diverse Inclusive Programme each year, to meet the needs of the schools, teachers and most importantly, increase the opportunities for PE and school sports to SEND children across the county.

Anyone is welcome to join the termly Inclusive PE and School Sport Inclusion Network meetings – where they discuss Inclusive Training and CPD information, share news from governing bodies, celebrate good practice, promote resources and provide all the latest inclusive sports festivals and competition opportunities.
