Description
Phab provides safe and fun places for people to feel independent, meet new friends and gain confidence, together. Phab inspires and supports disabled and non-disabled children, young people and adults to make more of life together - breaking down community barriers, reducing social isolation, and creating opportunities for all involved to enjoy the same activities and challenges side by side.
Clubs
Phab Clubs are places to belong, places to thrive where disabled and non-disabled people come together to socialise, have fun and build lifelong friendships.
Phab organises and hosts a range of exciting inclusive adventures away from home for disabled and non-disabled people of all ages offer a range of outdoor activities such as canoeing, rock climbing, caving, archery and sailing
Phab’s very special Inclusive 'Living Experience Residential Projects' enable children and young people aged from 8 to 25 to experience a whole range of challenging and exciting activities at fully accessible outdoor activity centres. Around 140 children and young people each year spend a weekend or week away with Phab at Bendrigg Lodge in the Lake District or Avon Tyrrell in the New Forest, fully supported by around 115 Phab volunteers and carers and the Centres’ own experienced staff.
Phab volunteers receive tailored training to enable them to support the children and, where needed, a special carer can accompany a child.
Phab has a well-equipped and comfortable, wheelchair accessible, 6 berth holiday home for families, located at Waterside Holiday Park and Spa beside the sandy beach at Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth, Dorset. There is level access to Waterside’s heated indoor and outdoor pools, leisure complex, restaurant, bar and shops and entertainment.
