West Northamptonshire SEND & AP Partnership Improvement Board Summary  (19th December 2024)

Previous Minutes & Action Log

Previous minutes were agreed without amendments and action Log was updated.

Discussion on the ASD/ADHD pathways and the challenges faced, including significant delays, increasing numbers of children and young people on waiting lists and communication issues.

Commitment to send urgent communication to families regarding the ASD/ADHD pathway before Christmas and update further in January.

Chief Executives of partner agencies are to meet and further discuss ways forward. 

Risk Log

Review of the updated risk log, focusing on the top risks for the SEND partnership.

Priority Action Plan Programme Overview Report and Change Requests

Proposal to present only the Programme Summary overview slightly differently in future meetings. The focus will remain on demonstrating impact measures and accurate, up to date data.

Agreement was made to submit formal change requests only for milestone slippage of more than three months.Work is ongoing to develop qualitative feedback to understand the lived experience for children and young people. 

'Stock-Take' Preparation

Preparation for the 'stock-take' on 9 January 2025 with Department for Education and NHS England has been completed.

Information updates include an overview of governance, co-production and qualitative surveys for services.

Plans will be reviewed on how to best communicate these updates with wider partners including families and schools. 

Partnership Communication Strategy 

A draft partnership communication strategy ready, pending agreement on governance.Aim to improve communication with children, young people, families, and schools. Subject to agreeing the governance, this will be bought in draft to the next SEND and AP Board meeting.
