Description

The University of Northampton is a Higher Education (HE) setting that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Additional Student Support and Inclusion Services Team (ASSIST)

ASSIST works with students with disabilities to help them achieve their full potential and to promote equal opportunities. It aims to enable students to access all aspects of university life, to take control of their learning, and to develop the skills needed for employment. ASSIST provides support for students with:

  • Physical impairments
  • Sensory impairments
  • Mental health difficulties
  • Medical conditions (such as epilepsy)
  • Autistic spectrum disorders (ASD)
  • Specific learning difficulties (such as dyslexia)

Assist run drop in sessions during the university terms between 11.00am and 1.00pm every weekday. They offer a range of support including PEEPs, deaf pages, exam arrangemnts, specialist study skills support, disability parking permits etc.  

EHC Plans and Higher Education

Please note: If you take a Higher Education (HE) course your EHC Plan will cease. Young people can request that a copy of their EHC plan is shared with their university.
