We provide this service for residents of Northamptonshire, UK. The service can be accessed from the point of being on the diagnostic pathway.
- Adult Social Support Groups - Free groups in Kettering, Northampton and Rushden/Wellingborough to offer social connection and interaction, personal development and fun! These groups provide the Autistic community a space where they can be themselves, and explore their triumphs and challenges with individuals who may better understand their experiences.
- YAAP (Young People's Autism Advisory Project) - A free group for Autistic young people across Northamptonshire, UK, to come together to help improve the understanding of Autism by the wider community.YAAP offers a welcoming space for Autistic individuals, including those on the diagnostic pathway, aged 11-25, regardless of their communication needs, with groups in Northampton and Kettering. YAAP provides a safe environment for young people to express their needs and aspirations through creating resources for young Autistic people or inputting their views on developing community services to become more neurodivergent-friendly. The program aims to give its members meaningful opportunities to socially engage, helping them build self-esteem, confidence, and peer friendships, while also reducing isolation.
- Mini YAAP - A YAAP groups for younger members ages 8-11.
- Peer Support - Part of Northamptonshire Keyworking service, delivered in collaboration with and funded by the NHS Integrated Care Board. The main focus is to support children and young people (ages 0-25) with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism and/or a Learning Disability, who may be at risk of admission to hospital or have already been admitted to hospital due to their mental health or other risk factors. The aim is to offer support in the community and avoid or reduce hospital admission where possible. Referrals to this service come via the Dynamic Support Register (DSR).
