Current works

We must ask that vehicles are not parked on the road within the works area during the road closure periods. We also recommend you plan extra time for your journeys.

We hope this information is helpful and we apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause. We will make every effort to minimise any unnecessary disruption.

Road Closure: Overnight traffic management installation on the roundabout and adjoining roads for safety

When: 1April 2025 to 3 April 2025

Working Hours: 8pm to 6am (2 night shifts)

Details: Partial closures with diversions

Utilising our roadmender machine, we will be carrying out some carriageway patch repairs on Caswell Road. Please note that this is not a resurfacing scheme.

Where: Caswell Road, Brackmills

When: Monday 31 March 2025 to Friday 4 April 2025

Link Road

Will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works along Lower Mount Northampton. This work will include
new asphalt surfacing, anti-skid, road markings, iron work and traffic signal detection equipment.

Where: Along the A4500 from the junction of St Michael’s Road to Abington Square and York Road to Junction of St Edmund’s Street.

When: 

  • 24 March 2025 to 29 March 2025
  • 31 March 2025 to 4 April 2025
  • 7 April 2025 to 11 April 2025

Working Hours: 8pm to 6am

Traffic Management

A road closure will be in place along with an approved diversion route. Please do not park on the carriageway during these works. We reserve the right to tow away any vehicles restricting the works.

Residents or businesses

Access for residents/businesses within the closure will be maintained where possible. However, prolonged delays are to be expected. There will be no access through the closure for any businesses/residents
outside the closure extents.

Emergency vehicles

Pedestrians and cyclists

Cyclists will be asked to follow the traffic management diversion route. Alternatively, cyclists can dismount the bicycle and walk on the footway. Footways will remain open for pedestrians with the carriageway being barriered off.

What: Improvement works to this roundabout and its slip roads, and adjoining junctions will take place and will include:

  • carriageway widening
  • new drainage connections
  • new service ducts
  • structure repairs and works including
  • waterproofing
  • kerbing
  • carriageway surfacing
  • upgrading of traffic signals new road traffic signs and markings

  • weekdays between 8am and 5pm and some weekends.Times may vary within these hours.

Full roundabout closures will be necessary at times, but these will occur at nighttime or off-peak. Further details will be sent 2 weeks prior to these full closures.

Traffic management will be in place 24/7 with a lane closure in place and traffic lights turned off. One lane will be open. A full closure will be in place on the cul-de-sac on London Road as well.

A lane closure will be in place leading into Wootton Hall Park with no entry permitted via the slip road. A one-way system will be in place. Please follow the signage.

Residents or businesses

Residents and businesses will have access to their properties at all times.

Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles but please expect delays. During full closures, an approved diversion route will be in place.

Pedestrians and cyclists

Safe and accessible diversion routes will be in place for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. Pedestrians with visual or mobility impairments will be assisted during work hours.

A4500, Upton between Sandy Lane roundabout and Upton Valley Way North.

To assist with the ongoing works on the road that runs between Berrywood Road at the north and A4500 at the south, lane closures will be in place on the A4500. These lane closures will assist the works to link this section of road.

When: Traffic management will be in place from Wednesday 5 March 2025 to Friday 4 April 2025

Lane closures will be in place both eastbound and westbound to facilitate our works. The extent of the lane closures are shown below. These will be in place 24/7 during these dates. Please expect delays.

To ensure safety, 2 bus stops will be temporarily suspended along this section. Please see image showing which stops. Bus companies have been notified. Please use alternative bus stops during this time.

We will be carrying out micro-resurfacing work in your area within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Micro-asphalt significantly extends the lifespan of the road and is also an economical treatment.
