We will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing and reinstating road markings along the A428 Harlestone, Northampton.

Where: The works will take place along the A428 from The Fox and Hounds to Dobbie's Garden Centre entrance

Traffic Management

A road closure will be in place for the three days with an approved diversion route. Please do not park on the carriageway during these works. We reserve the right to tow away any vehicles restricting the works.

Access for residents will be maintained when safe to do so. However, expect delays and allow for extra time.

Emergency vehicles

We aim to maintain access for emergency vehicles when safe to do so.

Pedestrians and cyclists

Cyclists will be asked to dismount the bicycle and walk on the footway. The footways will remain open to pedestrians. Access along the footways will be controlled by pedestrian marashals.

Public transport

Bus services will be notified of the works and will make alternative arrangements. Please contact your local bus provider for further information.

We will be carrying out traffic signal upgrades and resurfacing works.

Where: A508 Harborough Road

When: Monday 14 October to Saturday 30 November 2024

Working Hours: The roadworks will be conducted at scheduled times:

• 8am to 5pm and 8pm to 6am on 14 October and 15 October 2024
• 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 6am on 28 October and 30 November 2024

Traffic Management

• 4 way traffic lights will be in place 24/7 from 14 October to 15 November 2024
• a road closure will be in place from 8pm to 6am on 14 and 15 November 2024 and on 28 and 30 November

Please do not park on the carriageway during these works. We reserve the right to tow away any vehicles restricting the works.

Access will be maintained for residents. However, the diversion route will need to be followed as there will be no through route while the works are taking place.

Active Travel - Phase 1

This is phase 1 of a wider scheme that will take place in the area to connect areas of Northampton Town.

We will upgrade the footways to a shared footway/cycle routes, create safer controlled crossing points, upgrade the existing traffic lights and road signs, remove unsafe vegetation and resurface the footways and carriageway.

When: Monday 21 October to Friday 13 December 2024

Working Hours: 7am to 6pm and some weekends. Times may vary within these hours. Some night-time works will be necessary but noise levels will be kept to a minimum.

Traffic Management

Traffic management will be in place 24/7:

• 3-way temporary traffic lights will be in place
• Billing Road East junction up to Priory Close will be fully closed for the duration of the work
• no through-route will be granted to pedestrians
• follow the diversion
• follow onsite signage
• access to residents will be maintained

Full junction night-time closures will occur in December 2024 and diversion routes will be in place.

Delays are to be expected. Please allow for extra journey time.

Residents

Residents will have access to their properties at all times. Those whose properties are directly affected by the works will be guided in and out by our traffic management marshals during work hours. Access to properties will be made safe outside of these hours.

Emergency vehicles

We will maintain access for emergency vehicles but please expect delays.

Pedestrians and cyclists

Safe and accessible diversion routes will be in place for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists. Pedestrians with visual or mobility impairments will be assisted during work hours.

Public transport

Bus stops with the Billing Road East closure will be suspended. Please use the next bus stop along. Bus companies will be notified and delays to routes are to be expected.

The bridge is closed because of safety issues with the road’s structure and ground settling, shown by cracks and depressions.

Traffic Management

The bridge will closed for safety reasons:

• problems have been monitored for years, and temporary traffic lights were used during this time
• as the road condition worsened, the traffic light closures were extended to keep vehicles on safe surfaces.
• since road user safety is at risk, the road will remain closed for maintenance
• the closure will last a while to allow for repairs
• Kier is working with Network Rail to complete the project as soon as possible, but there are several technical issues to resolve before work can start
