Breastfeeding in libraries

Northamptonshire LibraryPlus welcomes you to breastfeed in any of our libraries.

It is you and your child's right to nurse/breast/chest feed in public where legally possible, and should you be challenged by anyone within our venue our staff will be happy to talk to them on your behalf.

What we can offer

We understand that breastfeeding/chest feeding gives your baby a healthier start to life. We offer comfortable spaces alongside books and toys to keep siblings entertained whilst you feed your baby. If you would like a glass of water, or if there's anything else we can reasonably do to make you more comfortable, please ask a member of staff.

We also have a range of books available for loan about feeding and introducing solids, they are located in the family collection.

We can also offer support and advice by signposting you to the:
