Energy efficiency grants
Across the UK, many households will see the cost of gas and electricity rise by more than 50% from April 2022 as the energy price cap – the limit on what energy suppliers can charge – increases.
This shift will see many feeling the pinch, but there are changes you can make to try and keep energy costs under control. Energy-saving improvements could make your home more efficient, keeping a lid on rising energy prices. Some households may even be eligible for a government grant to fund energy-efficiency works.
The Sustainable Warmth funding programme previously available is now closed to new applicants but you can still apply for the ECO4 flex energy efficiency scheme. Applications will also be available in the next few months for phase two of the Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2). HUG2 is a whole house retrofit grant funding programme targeting the worst performing properties that are not connected to the mains gas grid. To be eligible, households must have a total household income of less than £31,000 and the property must have an EPC rating of D or below and not be connected to the mains gas grid for heating. More information and details on how to apply will be available soon.
