Affordable Homes Delivery Plan
The Affordable Homes Delivery Plan was approved by Cabinet in November 2024.
This Plan explains how the Council, with partners, will build more and better affordable homes by 2029/30.
The Plan lists 12 key actions in detail that the Council can take to increase affordable housing:
- Strategic leadership
- Strengthening and diversifying development partner relationships
- Breaking down the barriers to housing delivery- a new Housing Delivery Board
- Creating momentum for change - The Housing Delivery Summit
- Maximising the impact of Section 106 development
- Considering the full financial benefits of affordable homes when considering disposal of Council land and property
- Strategic acquisitions of land and property to deliver affordable homes
- Acting as an enabler for key developments
- Accelerating the supply of new Council homes
- Better-quality affordable homes - a new higher minimum standard
- Monitoring Delivery Performance - a data-driven approach
- Sharing best practice and celebrating success
The Council is committed to building more high-quality affordable homes in West Northamptonshire. This 12-Point Plan aims to speed up this process and the Affordable Homes Delivery Plan will detail the key requirements for success.
