Adding a site to the Brownfield Land Register

Requests can be made to us to have sites added to the register.

Any site to be added to the register must meet all the following criteria, as set out in Regulation 4 of the 2017 Regulations:

  • Sites must be a minimum of 0.25ha or capable of accommodating at least 5 dwellings
  • Suitable – sites must be appropriate for residential use and must have regard to Local Plan policies and national planning policies
  • Available – there must be a landowner/developer intention to sell or develop the site
  • Achievable – sites must be developable within the next 15 years

If you wish to submit a site for consideration, please complete the form below.

Before completing the form, applicants are asked to:

  • familiarise themselves with the relevant parts of the regulations, particularly regulation 4
  • have available an electronic map (Ordnance survey based or Google) with a red line identifying the site
  • identify existing land uses on the site using the Use Classes Order 1987, as amended or any subsequent amendments

Any submissions will be considered by us during the next annual review.

The Brownfield Land Register is a public document and therefore requests to add sites, and details of any sites included, are treated as public information. See our Privacy Statement for further details.
