Council-managed Appointees and Deputies
The Client Funds Team manage financial affairs for people who lack capacity and have no-one able to support them in residential care, supported living and in the community.
The team looks after a person's financial affairs under an Appointeeship or deputyship order and adhere to the principals of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the standards set by the Office of the Public Guardian.
The staff engage the individuals and their close associates in the decision-making process for freedom of choice where possible.
They are always available to discuss a client's planned, need or desired expenditure.
They also work closely with other care professionals to ensure our clients are:
- protected from exploitation
- empowered to utilise their resources in ways that accord with their wishes, beliefs and lifestyles
