2025 Plan on a page

The Northampton Town Centre Task Group is a team of different organisations working together. We aim to solve problems and take actions to make Northampton town centre safer and better for everyone.

Plans are followed from the West Northants Community Safety Partnership, NTE solutions, and the Northampton Town Centre Masterplan.

Plan for 2025

Improve the Overall Appearance of the Town Centre

• Graffiti removal and prevention project to tackle the ongoing issue of illegal tagging
• Improve and promote the Town Centre Management guide

Safety and Welfare (Particularly in the evening/night time)

• Update the safer route for students
• Ongoing review of Ask for Angela campaign and explore additional training options for venues
• Raise awareness about mental health and suicide for workers, businesses, and the public

Safer Transport in the Evening and Night Time

• The OPFCC has arranged training for safer streets at the transport hub
• Look for ways to improve temporary closures and manage busy nights on Bridge Street

Engagement and Promoting the Offer

• Purple Flag submissions in January (self assessment) and October (full assessment)
