As part of our efforts to revitalise the town centre, we are introducing several key initiatives to enhance the experience for everyone. These initiatives include:

It only takes one

The It Only Takes One campaign, created with the OPFCC and local Sexual Violence organisations, aims to:

  • share safety advice for nights out
  • raise awareness about harassment and inappropriate behaviour
  • equip bystanders with the knowledge and confidence to challenge unacceptable behaviour

For more details, see how we promote safer nights out.

Ask for Angela scheme

Northampton Town Centre has run the Ask for Angela scheme for many years. Most places support the scheme.

In 2024, the TCTG made a new local campaign with fresh posters for venues. Northampton Pubwatch helped with this.

They also made posters for staff to show what to do when someone asks for Angela, these can be found on toilet stall doors in the establishments where the campaign is running.
