Sport and sport clubs
West Northamptonshire Council works in partnership with a wide range of organisations, Sports National Governing Bodies clubs and volunteers.
This includes working with Sport England, an arms-length body of government responsible for growing and developing grassroots sport and getting more people active across England.
Sport England has a wide range of guidance, support and funding for clubs, Parish Councils and organisations. Their website has links to National Governing Bodies, Safeguarding, Facilities and Planning.
The Council also works with Northamptonshire Sport to deliver a range of inclusive sports clubs and activities in the area. Northamptonshire Sport is a charity that aims to support health and wellbeing through physical activity available to everyone.

Family sports

If your family receives benefits you may be able to take part in the Northants Holiday Activity and Food programme (HAF) supported by Northamptonshire Sport. The programme offers a selection of fun activities (sport and more) as well as food for young people ages 5-16.
WNC delivers the Wildcats girls football sessions running every Wednesday 4:00pm to 5:00pm. The sessions offer a safe environment where girls aged 5 to 11 can have fun, develop new skills and create foundations for a lifelong love of sport. The games are hosted at Towcester Centre for Leisure.

Disability and sport
Our Local Offer Directory is available for children and young people (aged 0-25) with special educational needs and disabilities to search for inclusive programmes and activities.

Northamptonshire FA has programmes and games available no matter your ability level. They are committed to delivering opportunities for all players to have access to football.
Blisworth walking football - every Tuesday 10:30am to 11:30am is open to anyone over 50. Walking football is Hosted at Blisworth Football Club. Everyone is encouraged to play at their own pace and it’s all about having fun and exercising with a smile on your face.
Many of the programmes offered with Northamptonshire Sport focus on creating opportunities to be more active for people encountering various barriers. Join in on carefully chosen and engaging physical activities.

Women's clubs
If you are hoping to participate in sport directed specifically at women the Walking Sports website can be tailored for women only sessions. There are hiking, walking football, cricket and a wide range of other activities to take part in.
Northampton FA runs a women's league with games held at multiple levels indoors and outdoors. These games offer a safe and fun social space to explore your skills.
