The Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) SPD was adopted by the former Northampton Borough Council on 13 November 2019.
This SPD provides guidance for landlords, applicants and development management on how to manage the concentration, impact and quality of HMOs in Northampton.
The Northamptonshire Parking Standards document sets the parking standards we will use when assessing developments. The document was adopted on 6 September 2016.
The parking standards outlined in this document are set as a minimum, so encouraging well-designed parking as part of the development. The document also sets new dimensions for parking spaces as vehicles have become larger.

The Biodiversity SPD was adopted by the former Northampton Borough Council on 13 September 2017.
The SPD was prepared by the former authorities in Northamptonshire and is used to inform how biodiversity can be integrated into development, offering a standardised approach that all applicants should follow.

Northampton Borough Council commissioned a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for all the land within the boundary of the Registered Battlefield within Northampton. The Site of the Battle of Northampton 1460 CMP became guidance for development in June 2014.
