Notice of the appointment of external auditors

Local Audit and Accountability Act (2014) and Local Authority (Appointing Person) Regulations 2015

From 2018/19, Public Sector Auditor Appointments (PSAA) has been responsible for appointing an auditor to principal local government bodies that have chosen to opt into its national auditor appointment arrangements.

West Northamptonshire Council has opted into these arrangements as the means to procure the Council’s external auditors.

Under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and the Local Audit (Appointing Person) Regulations 2015, an appointment has been made by PSAA which was approved by the PSAA Board at its meeting on 22 March 2021. 

In accordance with this process, Grant Thornton has been appointed as the external auditors to West Northamptonshire Council for the audits of the accounts for the 2-year period 2021/22 to 2022/23.
