Business waste law and contact details

Business waste law

To stay within business waste UK law, you:

  • cannot dump trade waste at the household tip or in household bins
  • must use a licensed contractor to get rid of your waste properly and safely
  • have a duty of care to keep your waste stored securely

Waste transfer note

Once you have requested our services you must ensure that you have completed and returned a waste transfer note. We will not be able to complete any work before receiving your completed waste transfer note.

To find out about your duty of care, visit GOV.UK.

Duty of care

Under Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, all businesses have a duty of care for the disposal of all their recyclable materials and commercial waste.

Business rates do not cover businesses for any recycling or waste collections. You are therefore responsible for the management of all the waste your business produces.
