About sexual health (Easy Read)
Sexual health is about protecting yourself from infections and illnesses.
It is important for your physical, emotional, mental and social health.
Sexual health means protecting yourself and others.
This can mean emotionally and physically.
You should be respectful about sexuality and sexual relationships.
This includes:
- understanding what a healthy relationship looks like
- talking about sex and relationships with your loved ones
- safe sexual practices
- respecting other people’s sexual rights
How we can help
Sexual health services can support you with your worries.
There are services across West Northamptonshire.
Northamptonshire Integrated Sexual Health Service (NISH) offers advice and support.
This includes:
- testing for sexually transmitted infections
- advice on pregnancy and contraception
- answers to questions and worries you may have
- access to contraception
Termination services
British Pregnancy Advisory Service is an abortion care service.
Their staff are sensitive and highly trained.
They provide unplanned pregnancy advice.
They can help guide you through your options.
They can provide abortion treatment to end pregnancy if you choose it.

Contact Serenity Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) on 01604 601713.
The Integrated Sexual Health Service has further advice.
You may wish to report the assault to the police.
They will work closely with our services.
