Telecare alarm service

Our Call Care Lifeline and monitoring alarm service has been providing Northamptonshire with an installation and call answering service for over 30 years.

Based in Northampton, we have a good understanding of the needs of Northamptonshire residents, working with local services to ensure the best outcomes for our customers.

We support individuals and their family in maintaining a healthy, safe and independent life in your own home so people can remain in their homes for longer.

Our control room answers calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing a quick response and facilitating appropriate actions.

Enabling vulnerable people to remain living at home

If you and your family are looking for a solution that will give you peace of mind, help you remain at home and feel safe in the knowledge that if you do need help, all you have to do is press a button then, the VI Lifeline is the solution for you.

Easy installation and knowing that your call will be answered by a fully-trained professional based in Northamptonshire can be reassuring to both you and your family.

We aim to install emergency requests for alarms on the same day and non-emergency within 2 - 3 working days.

Falls prevention

A simple solution to prevent hospitalisation and ensures a quick response in the event of a fall. The falls pendant is suitable for, and widely used by:

  • older people living at home
  • people with limited mobility
  • people living at home with a disability that may cause them to fall
  • anyone who has recently had a fall
  • anyone with a medical condition that can cause them to lose balance

The falls pendant will call the control room automatically if you fall. The call will be answered within 60 seconds and the operator will facilitate the appropriate response. This may prevent any extended periods of time remaining on the floor undetected and/or the need for hospitalisation.

Key Safe

We highly recommend that if you have a Lifeline service that you have a key safe installed. This has proven to support family, carers, ambulance, police and fire to enter people’s properties when they are unable to get to the door.

Call Care supply the Police Approved C500 Key Safe.

We keep the key safe number confidential on our secure database and will only give it to 999 services in the event of an emergency.

We supply and fit the Key Safe at a time convenient to you, ensuring it is in the most discreet location on your property.

People living with dementia

As part of the Northamptonshire Dementia Action Alliance, we are aware of the impact dementia has on the individual and their family.

The installation of a lifeline can open up many solutions to support someone living with dementia to remain at home.

Case study

Mrs H lived in her own home with her dog for many years. She was diagnosed with dementia and one of the symptoms was that she would become confused when she took her dog for a walk; this led to her family having concerns about her living at home. They really wanted to keep her at home as she loved her home and her dog.

We installed a door sensor that meant that whenever Mrs H opened the door to let her dog out, we could speak to her and encourage her to stay in and, once the dog has been in the garden for a bit, to call him in and lock her door.

This meant Mrs H, with the support of the door sensor and her family, could remain in her home for many more years.

Once we have received your application form and checked with you that all the arrangements are in place, we can normally schedule your fitting within two weeks.

If you need it to be fitted urgently for some reason - perhaps you are coming home from hospital - please tell us and we will try to fit it within a few days.

Costs

Installation is free of charge. There is a weekly charge of £4.60 (£19.93 per month, which includes rental, maintenance and 24x7 monitoring by our local control room).

All new digital alarms work via a SIM card, there is an addition cost for this priced at £5 per month.

Payments can be made by direct debit from your bank, at a Payzone or a Post Office.

Other services

Your housing provider may have their own telecom alarm system, so it is advisable to make contact to find out.
