LGBTQ+ information for professionals
Whether you're just getting started or you already have things in place to tackle homophobic, biphobic or transphobic issues. Its important to remember the support we are providing children and young people, needs to be a whole school approach and remember that small changes can make a big difference.
Did you know?
We have an LGBTQ+ schools working meeting half termly exploring how we develop local guidance to best support LGBTQ+ pupils, if you would like to join all you need to do is nominate a staff member. The email provided is to nominate a staff member for the working group, not to raise safeguarding concerns involving children or young people.

Where to start?
Stonewall offer some wonderful advice around embedding LGBTQ+ classes, resources and support into your curriculum. They offer a great resource around an introduction to supporting LGBTQ+ children and young people.
This resource is suitable for all schools, colleges and settings and offers support in creating an LGBTQ+ inclusive environment, working with parents and carers, and supporting individual LGBTQ+ children and young people in both mainstream and specialist settings.
We also recommend the Stonewall LGBTQ+ inclusion resources.
