Dental advice for older children (7+ years) and adults (Easy Read)
Brush your teeth 2 times every day.
Do this during the day and before bed.
Brush your teeth for 2 minutes.
Use a pea sized amount of toothpaste.
After brushing, spit the toothpaste out.
Do not rinse your mouth with water.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet.
Limit sugary food and drink to mealtimes.
Flossing between your teeth is recommended from 12 years of age.
You can use dental floss.
You can also use interdental brushes.
If you have dentures (false teeth)
You may have false teeth.
These are also known as dentures.
It is important that you look after your mouth.
Use toothpaste to clean any remaining teeth.
Clean your mouth and gums.
You should do this twice a day.
