Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service

If you are a tenant at risk of losing your home through possession action, you may be able to get help under the Housing Loss Prevention Advice Service (HLPAS). This is a free service regardless of your financial circumstances.

This is a government initiative to provide:

• free, independent, confidential, debt, benefit and housing advice to people facing possession proceedings against their home
• free legal representation at court

For most West Northants residents, this scheme is provided by Community Law Service.

If you live in West Northants but your paperwork shows that your case is being dealt with at Oxford County Court, you will need to contact Turpin Miller, who deliver the HLPAS for that area.
