Baby sleep
Safe sleep
The safest place for your baby to sleep is in a clear Moses basket or cot, lying on their back, in the same room as you.
Following safer sleeping advice can help significantly reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as cot death) with young babies.
Although there are no definite known causes for it, experts agree there are some factors which may contribute to cot death.

Babies will wake frequently and need to be cuddled or have a milk feed to help them settle back to sleep. Each baby is different so some may sleep more or less than others.
As your baby grows and develops their sleep pattern is also likely to change. It can be helpful to think of sleep being a skill babies learn in time such as walking or talking.
