Introducing solids
Introducing solids (sometimes referred to as weaning) is the stage of development babies go through when they are developmentally ready to start eating solid foods.
Research has shown that it is best to wait until a baby is at least 6 months old and they are showing the 3 signs of readiness before introducing solids. Milk will remain the most important part of a babies diet until at least 12 months.
Find out more about first solid foods for babies on the NHS website.
The Strong Start team offer Introducing Solids Workshops for families in West Northamptonshire. You can book a Strong Start session via Eventbrite.
