Keeping you and your baby safe can seem overwhelming, but small changes can make a big difference. Ensure your home is safe to minimise serious accidents.
From 28 weeks of pregnancy, sleep on your side to reduce the risk of stillbirth. When preparing for your baby’s arrival, focus on essential items like clothes, a cot, and a pram.
Regularly maintain your pram and use a properly fitting sling to keep your baby close and secure.
To reduce the risk of choking hazards, avoid accessories with small parts. Ensure your cot and mattress meet safety standards. During nappy changes, make sure you never leave your baby unattended.
If you are concerned about your home environment, you can find cost of living support for parents and carers.
